Complete Your On The Job Training

Complete 300 hours of On the Job Training to qualify for a 6-12 month contract position with ACES & Guides Staffing. Successful completion of training includes performance assessments and evaluations.

Qualify For A 6-12 Month Term Contract

Gain valuable work experience in your field with the guidance and mentorship of experienced coaches and supervisors. Full-time, permanent placement options available upon successful completion of contract.

Program Benefits & Details

The Work STEP Transition to Employment Program offers pre-employment workshops and job placements to help youth overcome barriers to employment. The goal of this program is to equip youth with the skills they need to secure long-term and meaningful careers.

Program Details

Serves youth who are unemployed and not enrolled in school (15-29 years old)
Job placements are year-round – part-time and full-time opportunities
60 hours paid pre-employment training in partnership with work placement agency
New streams of workshops start monthly
Registration is always open

The main goal of the Transition to Employment program is to help youth overcome circumstances, conditions and situations that make it difficult to secure full-time employment. The paid pre-employment training portion of this program supports this goal by providing more intensive supports beyond traditional job search and placement opportunities. Common barriers faced by program participants include:

New to Canada
Limited work experience
Mental illness
Disability
Homelessness
Living in poverty
Low motivation
Limited education
Socially marginalized
Limited literacy
Conflict with the law
